March Madness

I'm not going to analyze brackets....all I really know is our beloved Bisons got upset in the A-Sun Tourney along with every other top seed---that's a testament to the competition of that league.

Beloved Bulldogs are on the Bubble.

Our Music City Magic first graders won the First Grade Chamionship last weekend! 5 games in 48 hours.

And, my latest tournament venture....Managing a Bracket Pool! I've fully cleared myself with our NCAA compliance officer at LU and it's all for a God cause. Please help me give them Hope through Hoops over the next few weeks. Play my bracket pool and change lives!

God's Money

A couple of weeks ago our church gave members $25,000 in increments in 5, 10 and 20. The idea is it's God's money and we're to pray about how to use it. Willie received $10 and is thinking on investing his proceeds in a lemonade stand supplies. Proceeds from his stand will go to Safe Haven Family Shelter. If anyone has some ideas on high traffic event upcoming on where he can have his stand, let me know. (I'm still wrestling with my $5. Stay tuned on that....but you know I've got some ideas swirling.)

Here's a couple of awesome ideas from some of my closest friends:

We're helping with just $20 to help build another well in Africa. See my post on the last well at http://thejaywaltons.blogspot.com/2008/11/faithbuilders.html My dear friend Amanda and her husband are taking $5 to $5000 to build a well through First Hope International. Check out http://www.fivetofivethousand.wordpress.com/ for all the details. Please let me know if you can play with me.

And another dear friend Betsy is raising $ to sponsor a child in Uganda by raffling off her handmade necklaces and flip flops. She easily met her goal of sponsoring first child $300 and now she's working on 2nd child.

Bisons win Atlantic Sun Championship and No. 1 seed - Lipscomb University Official Athletic Site

Everything seems right here this weekend. I just posted about about "my cup overflowing" which I actually wrote on Friday night just pending downloading kid pictures....well, I'm just spilling all over the place now. This morning I changed hymns to "To God be the Glory" (and no one even asked me to refrain)....Coincidentally, I could barely contain myself in church this morning when first hymn was "To God be the Glory."

Biggest benefit of the #1 seed is day of rest in tournament. (Note rule change on NIT...not an automatic bid for regular season championship. Automatic bid for the team that is 2nd in conference tournament....) Irrelevant to our goal of NCAA tournament but it's worth clarifying.

3 more games and we're dancing!

Cup overflowing!

I love it when my cup starts to overflow!

Seems like everyone's ready for Spring this year....and I'm no different but a couple of sunshine days has my spirits higher. When I start to feel empty---I know the problem. Too many gray days. Gray days defined as lost focus, imbalance, screwed up priorities--Whatever. "Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord to the cross ....then I can't remember tune and switch to "I am Thine, O Lord, I hve heard Thy voice, draw me closer to Thee." Then my kids plead...quit singing, but I smile as I re-center.

Some overflowing gratitude as the week ends:

Mama & Daddy came two months in a row! I miss them so dearly but then act like a nervous maniac (Martha vs Mary) while they're here. Not sure what all that means. Anyway, I'm so grateful for they've kept it between the lines these 44ish years. I know "life" happens in and we're sure to be experience "life" at some point.I sit back amazed at blessing our parents have given us with commitment, loyalty, consistency, and love.

Willie turning 6 has allowed us to see some dividends of our parenting. I know we have a long way to go, but there are signs we might be on the right path. Ummm...Ruby, wow, what a sweet blessing.

We had 2 rows of homeless guys at our game on Thursday....they were there to support Josh who volunteers with them. Lipscomb fed them before the game. Thank you, Lord, that the boys we invest so much in are getting it!

I truly love March. I love tournament time...the pinnacle of our year. Thank you, Lord, for giving me the goods to support my husband in his profession.

Paperwork on my end is finished to be Montreal's Big Sister!

And many more blessed moments that make my heart overflow.

Relentless Hodzic makes it a rare 20-20 in Kennesaw St. win - Lipscomb University Official Athletic Site

Relentless Hodzic makes it a rare 20-20 in Kennesaw St. win - Lipscomb University Official Athletic Site

Everything fell the Bisons' way last night. The Bisons defeated Kennesaw State 74-66. Belmont defeated Mercer 77-73 and Jacksonville defeated Campbell 65-52.

That means just two things need to happen for the Bisons to win the A-Sun Championship and cut down the nets in Allen Arena Saturday night.

1. The Bisons need to beat Mercer. That game is at 5 p.m. Saturday at Lipscomb's Allen Arena.

2. ETSU needs to beat Jacksonville (ETSU beat JU 93-70 earlier this year).

If you can't attend the game will be broadcast live on CSS-TV and on ESPN360.com.

FREE ADMISSION to anyone donating a t-shirt for the "Shirts Off Our Back" campaign for Haiti.

Hope to see you Saturday at 5!
